We have all heard the phrase, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I believe the same thing is true when it comes to owning a business and watching it grow and blossom. I believe in supporting small businesses when you can.
Today I want to talk about Laurie Ross of Ah Weh Vacations. We did an interview-style post and here is a great way to get to know her and learn about her upcoming event, Shop & Sail.
Interview with Laurie Ross
How long have you been a travel agent for?
I’ve been doing travel for about 10 years. I have had my own company for 5 years.
What is your favorite part of being a travel agent?
My favorite part is traveling vicariously through my clients’ itineraries. I also love hearing their excitement when they get the perfect trip planned.
What was the best trip you planned for someone else?
There are so many that it is hard to choose. I will say that the Sonoma Valley girls trip was so much fun to plan. I got to help create so many memories.
What is your favorite destination to travel to?
Jamaica, Scotland, and New Orleans so far are my favorites.
What makes you different than booking online?
I take care of every aspect of your vacation. I get to know my clients as people and what they love. You are not just a random booking number to me. I pour my heart and soul into every client I work with to ensure they get the best experience.
What is your upcoming event all about?
My event on October 30th will consist of presentations from 2 cruise lines. The representatives from the cruise lines will be in attendance to show all that they have to offer for amazing traveling and unique experiences. They will also speak about why cruising is a great way to see the world.
With regards to the cruises, what cruises are on your bucket list?
Greek Island windjammer cruise, wine cruise in Europe, and a cruise in Africa.
If you had any advice to give people who have never traveled, what would the advice be?
My advice is just to go for it. There is nothing more exciting than learning and exploring somewhere you have never been to before.
